Technical Project Manager
Location: Remote (North America)
Dicom Systems is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead enterprise customer implementations from discovery through successful production deployment.
Primary Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
Project Leadership
- Lead multiple enterprise implementation projects simultaneously from discovery through production deployment and customer acceptance.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, assumptions, dependencies, milestones, timelines, and acceptance criteria.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, work plans, risks, dependencies, and customer expectations.
- Estimate implementation effort, coordinate engineering resources, and balance project workload.
- Coordinate activities across customers, Integration Support Engineering, Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and third-party vendors.
- Identify risks early, remove blockers, manage scope changes, adapt to changing priorities, and drive projects to successful completion.
- Work closely with Engineering leadership to establish realistic technical milestones and implementation schedules.
- Facilitate customer meetings, implementation reviews, technical workshops, executive updates, project acceptance, and transition into production support.
- Measure project performance, identify improvement opportunities, and continuously improve project execution.
Customer Success
- Serve as the primary customer contact throughout project execution.
- Build trusted relationships with customer technical and clinical teams.
- Provide proactive project updates, executive summaries, risk assessments, and clear communication.
- Coordinate customer action items, maintain accountability, and professionally manage escalations.
- Ensure customer expectations remain aligned throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Technical Coordination
- Coordinate technical implementation activities performed by Integration Support Engineers.
- Participate in workflow discovery, technical planning, deployment validation, testing, go-live readiness, and customer acceptance.
- Understand Linux, networking, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, DICOM, HL7, FHIR, enterprise imaging workflows, and healthcare integrations sufficiently to coordinate technical teams and communicate effectively with customers.
- Partner with Engineering to communicate implementation feedback, customer requirements, technical challenges, and product improvement opportunities.
Process Improvement, AI & Automation
- Continuously improve implementation methodologies, documentation, templates, workflows, customer communication, and operational standards.
- Standardize project delivery through repeatable processes, acceptance criteria, implementation checklists, and best practices.
- Drive organization-wide adoption of AI tools to improve project planning, meeting summaries, documentation, action tracking, customer communication, reporting, and overall productivity.
- Identify, design, and implement automation opportunities that eliminate repetitive manual work and improve consistency across project execution.
- Ensure implementation documentation, customer deliverables, Statements of Work (SOWs), acceptance criteria, and project artifacts are maintained under version control and continuously improved throughout the project lifecycle.
- Define KPIs, dashboards, reporting, and performance metrics that improve visibility, accountability, execution quality, and operational efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate and improve project management methodologies, operational processes, AI workflows, and delivery tools.
Project Delivery Platform & Collaboration
- Utilize Jira as the primary platform to plan work, manage milestones, track risks, dependencies, customer action items, and overall project execution.
- Utilize Git for version-controlled project documentation, implementation guides, templates, SOWs, configuration baselines, customer deliverables, and change tracking.
- Maintain accurate documentation in Confluence and other collaboration platforms while ensuring quality, traceability, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering using Agile development methodologies and modern software development practices.
- Promote documentation quality, operational consistency, and continuous knowledge sharing across the organization.
Technical Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 5 years of enterprise software implementation or technical project management experience.
- Experience managing projects through the complete project lifecycle.
- Strong background in Healthcare IT, Enterprise Imaging, PACS, RIS, EMR/EHR, DICOM, HL7, FHIR, or related technologies.
- Good understanding of Linux, enterprise networking, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise software deployment.
- Ability to understand technical discussions and translate them into actionable project plans.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional engineering teams and enterprise customers.
- Strong organizational, planning, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems creatively while balancing customer and business priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Enterprise healthcare software implementation experience.
- Agile project management methodologies.
- Jira, Confluence, Git, and collaborative documentation platforms.
- Experience introducing AI-assisted workflows into project management or operational processes.
- Experience implementing workflow automation and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Experience with AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or equivalent technologies.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, or equivalent certification.
